Exploring Walworth's Past

Have you ever wondered about the history of a place? Walworth has an interesting past, especially its name!

How Walworth Got Its Name

The community we know today as Walworth wasn't always called that. When it was first settled, from 1801 to 1825, it had a different name: Douglass Corners. This name honored two brothers, Stephen and Daniel Douglass, who were among the first people to settle and build homes in this area. They were pioneers who helped start the community.
