Wang Junkai (simplified Chinese: 王俊凯; traditional Chinese: 王俊凱; pinyin: Wáng Jùnkǎi), also known as Karry Wang, is a famous Chinese singer and actor. He was born on September 21, 1999. He started training with TF Family in 2010. In 2013, he became the leader of the popular music group TFBoys.

Early Life and School
Wang Junkai was born in Chongqing, China. His grandparents mostly raised him because his parents were very busy with work. His dad was a taxi driver, and his mom was a hairdresser.
In late 2010, Junkai joined TF Entertainment as a trainee. He was the only trainee for a while. Before he officially started his career, he sang on TF Family's mini album I Don't Want to Change. He also shared many cover songs online and joined audition shows. His cover of "Onion" by Aska Yang became very popular.
On August 6, 2013, when he was 13, he officially became a member of TFBOYS. He joined Roy Wang and Jackson Yee in the group.
In 2017, Wang Junkai got into the Beijing Film Academy after passing a tough entrance exam. This news was a big deal in the media. He finished his studies and graduated in 2021.
Music and Acting Career
Wang Junkai has had a very busy career in both music and acting.
Solo Music
In 2016, Wang released his first solo song called "Ode to A Tree." He even helped write the music for it. Later that year, he released "Memory in Ferris Wheel." This song was part of the soundtrack for a web series called Finding Soul. It became very popular, reaching number one on the Billboard China V Chart for three weeks!
In 2017, he released another song, "Homeward," which was produced by Li Ronghao. This song was named one of the Top 10 Songs at the Fresh Asia Chart Festival. In September, he released "Karry On" to celebrate his eighteenth birthday.
Wang held his first solo concert on November 1, 2019. It was called Karry's Dream Concert 2019 and took place at the Cadillac Center.
Acting Roles
Wang Junkai has also appeared in many movies and TV shows. In 2016, he had a small role in Zhang Yimou's big movie The Great Wall.
In 2017, he starred in the Chinese movie Miracles of the Namiya General Store. This movie was based on a popular Japanese book. He also sang the theme song for the film, "Train in the Mist," with Li Jian. For his role in Namiya, Wang won the Best Newcomer award at the Golden Phoenix Awards.
In 2018, he starred in the adventure drama Eagles and Youngster. He also appeared in the animated fantasy film L.O.R.D: Legend of Ravaging Dynasties 2. In 2019, he starred in the film Bureau 749.
More recently, he starred in the 2022 film The Fallen Bridge as Meng Chao. He also had a main role in the 2022 movie Home Coming as Cheng Lang.

Wang Junkai has done many other interesting things besides music and acting.
Guinness World Record
In 2015, Wang Junkai set a Guinness World Record. He had "the most reposted Weibo post" ever! Weibo is a popular social media site in China.
Fashion and Brands
In 2017, Nike invited Wang to help design new Air Max sneakers. In June of that year, he walked the runway for the fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana in Milan. He also became the youngest male celebrity to be on the front cover of famous magazines like Harper's Bazaar and L'Officiel Hommes.
In December 2017, Wang became a global ambassador for Swatch, a watch company. He also worked with a big bank, ICBC, and Visa China to create a special "Galaxy·Karry Wang" credit card. However, in November 2018, he stopped working with Dolce & Gabbana due to a controversy.
Social Activities and Charity
Wang Junkai is also involved in many good causes. In March 2017, he was named a "Special Envoy of Youth Action" for "World Life Day." This was a campaign by the United Nations Environment Programme and other groups.
On his 18th birthday, Wang started his own charity foundation called "Kindle Blue Fund." Their first project was to build a library for children living in mountain areas. In April 2018, the United Nations Environment Programme made him their National Goodwill Ambassador.
Wang Junkai has also been recognized for his influence. He ranked 12th on Forbes China Celebrity 100 list in 2019, and 10th in 2020. In 2021, he ranked 9th.
