Wang Junkai (simplified Chinese: 王俊凯; traditional Chinese: 王俊凱; pinyin: Wáng Jùnkǎi), born on September 21, 1999, is a famous Chinese singer and actor. He is also known by his English name, Karry Wang.
Wang Junkai started training with TF Entertainment in 2010. In 2013, he became the leader of the popular group TFBOYS. He is a very successful young artist.

Early Life and Education
Wang Junkai was born in Chongqing, China. His grandparents mostly raised him because his parents were very busy with work. His father was a taxi driver, and his mother was a hairdresser.
In late 2010, he joined TF Entertainment as a trainee. He was the only trainee for a while. Before he officially started his career, he was part of TF Family's mini album I Don't Want to Change. He also shared many cover songs online. One of his covers, "Onion," became very popular.
On August 6, 2013, when he was 13, Wang Junkai officially joined TFBOYS. He debuted with Roy Wang and Jackson Yee.
In 2017, he got into the Beijing Film Academy. This was a big deal and many news outlets reported it. He finished his studies there in 2021.
Music and Acting Career
In 2016, Wang Junkai released his first solo song, "Ode to A Tree." He also helped write this song. Later that year, he released "Memory in Ferris Wheel." This song was part of the soundtrack for the web series Finding Soul. It became number one on the Billboard China V Chart for three weeks.
Wang Junkai also acted in the film The Great Wall in 2016. It was directed by the famous Zhang Yimou.
In 2017, he released his third song, "Homeward." This song was chosen as one of the Top 10 Songs at the Fresh Asia Chart Festival. He also joined the TV show Give Me Five. That same year, Wang became the Chinese ambassador for the movie Kingsman: The Golden Circle. He sang its theme song, "Become a Gentleman."
For his 18th birthday in September, he released a special song called "Karry On." He then starred in the Chinese movie Miracles of the Namiya General Store. This film came out in December 2017. He sang the theme song, "Train in the Mist," with Li Jian. Wang Junkai won an award for Best Newcomer for his role in Namiya.
In 2018, Wang Junkai starred in the adventure TV show Eagles and Youngster. He was also announced to be in the animated film L.O.R.D: Legend of Ravaging Dynasties 2. In 2019, he acted in the film Bureau 749.
On November 1, 2019, Wang Junkai held his first solo concert. It was called Karry's Dream Concert 2019. The concert took place at the Cadillac Center.
Other Activities
Wang Junkai holds a Guinness World Record. In 2015, his Weibo post was shared the most times ever.
In March 2017, Nike invited him to help design new Air Max sneakers. In June, he walked the runway for the fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana in Milan. He also became the youngest male celebrity to be on the cover of Harper's Bazaar and L'Officiel Hommes magazines.
In December 2017, Wang Junkai became a global brand ambassador for Swatch. He also worked with ICBC and Visa China to create a special "Galaxy·Karry Wang" credit card.
In November 2018, Wang Junkai ended his partnership with Dolce & Gabbana.
In August 2019, he was a special guest at Mayday's concert in Beijing. He performed the song "Onion" with the band.
Social Activities
In March 2017, Wang Junkai was named a "Special Envoy of Youth Action." This was for a campaign called "World Life Day." It was organized by the United Nations Environment Programme and other groups.
On his 18th birthday, Wang Junkai started his own charity. It is called the "Kindle Blue Fund." Its first project was to build a library for children in mountain areas.
In April 2018, the United Nations Environment Programme made him a UN Environment National Goodwill Ambassador.
Forbes magazine lists the most famous people in China. Wang Junkai was ranked 12th on the Forbes China Celebrity 100 list in 2019. In 2020, he moved up to 10th place. In 2021, he was ranked 9th.
