Wanganella is a small village in New South Wales, Australia. It sits right on the Billabong Creek. You can find Wanganella on the Cobb Highway, which is a road that connects Hay to the north and Deniliquin to the south. This village is part of the Edward River Council area. In 2016, only about 30 people lived in Wanganella.
History of Wanganella
The land in Wanganella was divided up and sold in 1864. This was the start of the village.
In 1865, a traveler described Wanganella as having two pubs, a blacksmith's shop, and a shoemaker's shop. There was also a nice bridge built over Billabong Creek. Another report from the same year said that 25 people lived in Wanganella. The village also had two inns, two stores, and two butcher shops.
