Warm Springs Valley facts for kids
Warm Springs Valley is a beautiful valley located in the city of Lake Elsinore in Riverside County, California. It's nestled between the Temescal Mountains on its north, east, and south sides, and the Clevelin Hills to its west. This valley got its name because warm springs used to flow here a long time ago!
The valley stretches along the upper part of Temescal Creek, close to Lake Elsinore. It starts where the Elsinore Spillway Channel comes out from between the Clevelin Hills and the Temescal Mountains. From there, it goes northward all the way to the beginning of Walker Canyon. The easternmost part of the valley is a natural opening in the mountains where State Highway 74 passes through, heading east towards Perris.
Three smaller streams, called tributaries, flow through Warm Springs Valley. They all flow southwest and eventually join Temescal Creek after passing under Interstate 15. These streams are:
- Wasson Canyon Creek in the southern part of the valley.
- Arroyo Del Toro in the middle of the valley.
- Stovepipe Wash in the northern part, closer to the Lake Elsinore Outlets.
