Warspite is a small community called a hamlet in Alberta, Canada. It is located within Smoky Lake County, a region in the province of Alberta. You can find Warspite along Highway 28, which runs between the Town of Smoky Lake and the Village of Waskatenau. Warspite sits at an elevation of about 655 meters (2,149 feet) above sea level.

This hamlet is part of Census Division No. 12 and is also in the federal voting area known as Westlock-St. Paul.

History of Warspite

Warspite has an interesting past! The first post office in this area opened in 1914. Back then, it was called 'Smoky Lake Centre.' A couple of years later, in 1916, its name was changed to Warspite. This new name honored a famous British warship, HMS Warspite, after an important naval battle called the Battle of Jutland.
