Wasa Lake is a beautiful lake located in British Columbia, Canada. It's a popular spot for families and visitors. The lake covers about 1.15 square kilometers. You can find it about 37.5 kilometers north of Cranbrook. The Wasa Lake Provincial Park is right at the northern end of the lake.

The Forest of the Rainshadow Trail leads up to the Wasa Lake Ridge. From here, you get incredible views! You can see the entire lake, the Purcell Mountains, and even the Kimberley ski hill. In the background, the majestic Rocky Mountains create a breathtaking scene.

History of the Name

Wasa Lake got its name in 1902. It was named after the city of Vaasa in Finland. Before that, the lake was known by a different name: 'Hanson lake'.
