Watta people facts for kids
The Watta were an Indigenous Australian group who lived in the Northern Territory of Australia. They were one of the many Aboriginal peoples who have lived on this land for thousands of years.
Where the Watta Lived
A famous researcher named Norman Tindale estimated that the Watta people lived on about 3,500 square miles (which is about 9,065 square kilometers) of land. This area was located inland, near the eastern side of the South Alligator River. Their territory also reached as far east as the beginning of the East Alligator River.
