Wesley J. Hall is a well-known Canadian businessman and entrepreneur. He is famous for being one of the "Dragons" on the TV show Dragons' Den, where he invests in new business ideas. Since 2024, he has also served as the Chancellor of the University of Toronto, which is a very important leadership role at the university.

About Wes Hall
Wes Hall was born and grew up in Saint Thomas, Jamaica. When he was a teenager, he moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He studied to become a law clerk at George Brown College. After finishing his studies, he worked in the legal department of a company called CanWest.
Starting His Own Businesses
In 2002, Wes Hall started his own company called Kingsdale Advisors. This company helps other businesses with important decisions, especially when they are buying or selling parts of their company. In 2006, his company became very important in Canadian business. They helped a company called Xstrata buy another company called Falconbridge.
Later, he also started another company called QM Environmental. This company works to clean up the environment and deal with pollution.
Fighting Racism in Business
In 2020, Wes Hall launched an organization called the BlackNorth Initiative. This group works to fight racism in the business world. They want to make sure that everyone has fair chances and opportunities, no matter their background.
On Television and as an Author
In 2021, Wes Hall joined the popular TV show Dragons' Den for its 16th season. On the show, he listens to people's new business ideas and decides if he wants to invest his own money to help them grow.
He has also written a book about his life called "No Bootstraps When You’re Barefoot". In this book, he shares his story and honors his grandmother.

In 2023, the University of Toronto gave Wes Hall an honorary doctorate. This is a special award that recognizes his achievements and contributions. In 2024, he was chosen to be the 35th Chancellor of the University of Toronto. The Chancellor is like the head of the university and helps lead it.
