How Westgate Grew
Westgate started to grow a lot in the 1950s and 1960s. During this time, many single-family homes were built. This made Westgate a place where many families lived.
Later, in the late 1990s, a big shopping area was built. This was the Westgate Shopping Center. It's located where Ben White Boulevard, Lamar Boulevard, and the Capital of Texas Highway meet.
