Whistle Lake is a beautiful small lake in Anacortes, Washington. It is part of the Anacortes Community Forest Lands. Even though you can't drive right up to it, many people visit Whistle Lake every year. It's a great spot for outdoor fun!
Getting to Whistle Lake
You can reach Whistle Lake by driving to a special starting point called a trailhead. This trailhead is located off Whistle Lake Road. From there, you will need to hike about 1.3 miles (about 2 kilometers) to get to the lake. It's a nice walk through nature!

Whistle Lake is a popular place for many activities. The area around the lake has lovely views. There are also many trails for hikers to explore.
Water Fun
The lake itself is perfect for cooling off. You can go for a swim in its clear waters. Fishing is also a popular activity here. If you like being on the water, you can use inflatable rafts or other boats that do not have motors. This keeps the lake peaceful and clean.
Cliff Jumping
For those who like adventure, there are cliffs around the lake. These cliffs range from about 10 feet (3 meters) to almost 70 feet (21 meters) high. Many visitors enjoy jumping from these cliffs into the water below. Always be careful and make sure it's safe before you jump!
