Whitehern Historic House and Garden is a cool old house in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. It was built a long time ago, just before 1850. Today, it's a special kind of museum called a historic house museum. This means you can visit it to see how people lived in the past!

For many years, Whitehern was the home of the McQuesten family. Important family members included Mary Baker McQuesten and Thomas McQuesten. Thomas McQuesten was a well-known person in Hamilton.

The McQuesten family gave their historic home to the City of Hamilton. This happened in 1968, after the last of Thomas's five unmarried brothers and sisters passed away. Whitehern is located in downtown Hamilton. You can find it at the corner of Jackson Street West and MacNab Street South. It's close to the Hamilton City Hall.

After some careful work to fix it up, Whitehern opened as a museum in 1971. The City of Hamilton owns and runs it. Sometimes, movies or TV shows that are set in the past use Whitehern as a filming spot. Because it's so important, Whitehern was named a National Historic Site in 1962. There's also a special sign from the Ontario Heritage Trust to remember its history.
