Wild Animal Games was a fun children's television game show. It aired on the Family Channel from October 2, 1995, to September 22, 1996. The show was hosted by Ryan Seacrest. A chimpanzee named Eddie was his co-host! Randy West was sometimes the announcer.
The show aired on weekdays at 4:00 PM. It also aired on Saturday mornings for a while. Each episode focused on a different animal.
How the Games Worked
First Game
Every day, a new game was played. This game was based on the animal of the day. For example, if the animal was a donkey, kids might play polo on donkeys. If it was a penguin, they might collect eggs like penguins do. Usually, two teams competed against each other.
The Chimp Challenge
This game was a memory challenge for two kids. First, they watched a short video about the animal of the day. Then, they answered three questions about the video.
- The first question was worth 50 points.
- The second question was worth 100 points.
- The third question was worth 150 points.
After this, a second video was shown. Three more questions were asked, and their point values were doubled! Each child had a parent or teacher helping them. The parent or teacher from the losing team got a messy penalty. This could be getting slimed or put in a "pie guillotine."
Waterfall Prize Pool
The final game took place in a small pool. These games were not related to the animal of the day. When the show first started, five kids competed. They played games like shooting basketballs while going down a water slide. They also threw balls through a tire while sliding.
Later, the game changed. Two teams of three kids each competed in a relay race. The relay race was different every day.
