Wilderness Run at RCDB |
Wilderness Run is a fun steel roller coaster at Carowinds amusement park. It used to be called Taxi Jam, Hey Arnold's Taxi Chase, and Lucy's Crabbie Cabbie. This ride is perfect for younger thrill-seekers!
Ride Design and Features
Wilderness Run is located right next to the big Intimidator coaster. It has a bright green track and brown supports. The train itself is yellow and orange with a cool red stripe.
The train has six cars. Each car can hold two people, so a total of twelve riders can go at once. This roller coaster was built by E&F Miler Industries. They also made other rides like the Taxi Jam coaster at Canada's Wonderland and The Great Pumpkin Coaster at Kings Island and Kings Dominion.
What to Expect on the Ride
When you start your ride on Wilderness Run, the train slowly climbs up a 15-foot (about 4.5 meters) lift hill. This is like a small mountain!
Once you reach the top, you'll make a left turn that goes downhill. Right in the middle of this turn, a camera takes your picture! After that, you'll go over a small "camelback" hill, which gives you a little floating feeling. Then comes an even smaller hill, followed by a left turn that spirals downwards. The ride finishes with a few small bumps that give you a fun, bouncy feeling before you return to the station.
