Early Life and High School Years
Wiley Brown was born in Sylvester, Georgia. He grew up there, raised by his grandmother, Sarah Pope, along with his mother and three siblings.
Wiley went to Worth County High School in Sylvester. He was a star player on the school's varsity basketball team, the Rams. He played for four years and was very successful. By his senior year, many top colleges wanted him to play for their basketball teams. He chose to attend the University of Louisville.
Professional Sports Career
After a great college basketball career, Wiley Brown decided to try playing professional football. He joined the National Football League (NFL) and played as a defensive end for the Philadelphia Eagles. He played with the Eagles for two seasons. During this time, he played for coaches like Dick Vermeil and Marion Campbell.
After his short time in the NFL, Brown went back to playing basketball. He played professional basketball for seven years. He traveled all over the world as part of the International Federation of Basketball. He played one year for the Louisville Catbirds in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). For the other six years, he played basketball in Europe, living in countries like Spain, France, and Italy.
