Will McBride (January 10, 1931 – January 29, 2015) was an American photographer, painter, and sculptor. He was known for his photos in different styles, including photojournalism (telling stories with pictures) and art photography. He also illustrated books.

Life and Work of Will McBride
Will McBride was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1931. He grew up in the city of Chicago. He learned painting from the famous American artist Norman Rockwell. Later, he studied drawing and painting at Syracuse University, finishing his studies in 1953.
From 1953 to 1955, Will McBride served in the United States Army as a lieutenant in Würzburg, Germany. He liked Germany so much that he decided to stay there for the rest of his life.
Photography for Youth Magazines
McBride's photographs were published in many European magazines. One well-known magazine was Twen, a German youth magazine. His work in Twen helped him become known.
Exhibitions and Awards
Will McBride's photography has been shown in many art galleries and museums. Some of his solo exhibitions (shows just for his work) since the year 2000 include places like the Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Bologna, Italy, and C/O Berlin in Germany.
In 2004, he received the Dr. Erich Salomon Prize. This is a special award from the German Society for Photography that honors great photographers.
Will McBride passed away in 2015 when he was 84 years old.
