Will Sheridan Jr. (born January 12, 1985) is a talented American who used to play college basketball. He played for the Villanova Wildcats team from 2003 to 2007. After college, he played basketball in Italy for a short time.
Today, Will Sheridan is known as a rapper, musician, and recording artist. He has released several music projects. He is also a DJ, organizes events, and works as a professional host. Will Sheridan's Basketball Journey
Will Sheridan's parents, Will Sr. and Josie, were both police officers. He has two siblings, DeVaughn and Chaleoa. His nickname when he was younger was Bump.
He started playing basketball at Sanford High School. He was considered one of the top 50 high school players in the country by Basketball Times.
Playing for Villanova
Will went to Villanova University, where he studied Communications. He joined the Division I basketball team, the Villanova Wildcats, in the 2003–2004 season. He was a starter for all four seasons until he graduated in 2007.
Will is 6 feet 8 inches tall and played as a forward. He even wrote a journal for the Philadelphia Daily News during Villanova's exciting NCAA tournament run in 2006.
After playing basketball briefly in Italy, he came back to New York and started his music career.

Will Sheridan's music journey began with a show called "The Will to Win" in New York. He was also inspired by a visit to Nairobi, Kenya. His music mixes house, hip hop, and African rhythms.
First Music Releases
He released his first EP (a short album) called Ngoma. "Ngoma" means "music" in the Swahili language. His first music video from this EP was "Welcome to the Jungle." This song has a strong African rhythm and uses the word "asante," which means "thank you" in Swahili.
His next song was "302," which is the area code for Bear, Delaware, where he grew up.
Live Performances and Albums
After his first release, Will Sheridan performed all over New York City. He hosted two monthly shows: "Westside Wednesdays" and "GIANT." His live shows are known for being very energetic. He now hosts a weekly party called "Hot Fruit" in Brooklyn.

Will Sheridan's Personal Story
When Will Sheridan started college at Villanova, he shared his personal story with his roommate and teammate, Mike Nardi. He also shared it with his parents a few months later. His teammates at Villanova knew about his personal journey and supported him.
On May 16, 2011, Will Sheridan publicly shared his story in an interview with ESPN.com. He was 26 years old at the time, and he had already retired from basketball. After the article was published, he also appeared on ESPN's Outside the Lines.
In an interview with Outsports, he mentioned that some of his songs, like "You Know I Got It" and "Set Fire in the Streets," included lyrics about his personal identity even before he spoke about it publicly.
Will Sheridan is one of the first male Division I basketball players to openly share his personal journey. Another former player, John Amaechi, shared his story in 2007. Travon Free, a basketball player from Long Beach State, also shared his story in 2011. Will Sheridan's openness has made him an inspiring figure for many.
