William Valdés's Journey
Early Life and Acting Beginnings
William Valdés started his journey in entertainment very young. When he was just 5 years old, he went to the National Circus school in Havana. A few years later, at age 9, his family moved to Miami, Florida.
As a teenager, William studied acting. He then got a role in the first season of the TV show Grachi. In this show, he played a character named Sibilo "Ora" Santisteban. In 2012, he appeared in another TV show called El rostro de la venganza. He played Miguel Ángel Samaniego in this series. He worked alongside Kimberly Dos Ramos and María Gabriela de Faría, who he had also worked with on Grachi. In 2014, William began filming a new TV show. It was called Voltea pa' que te enamores and came out in 2015.
Music Career and Boy Band CD9
In May 2013, William Valdés became part of a Mexican boy band named CD9. He formed the group with Jos Canela, Alonso Villalpando, Alan Navarro, and Freddy Leyva. They released their first song, "The Party," in August 2013. Later, they signed a music deal with Sony Music México.
William left the group in October of that year. He said it was for "personal reasons." Bryan Mouque then took his place in the band. In 2016, William explained why he left. He said he was still friends with the other band members. The real reason was that the management could not provide him with food and a place to stay in Mexico, as they had promised.
In May 2015, William Valdés released his first song as a solo artist. It was called "#MAS."
Hosting TV Shows
William Valdés also worked as a TV host. He was a co-host on the Univision morning show ¡Despierta America!. He left that show in 2017. Later, he co-hosted another morning talk show called Buenos Días Familia on Estrella TV. He left this show in January 2019. The show was later canceled in June of that same year.
