Williston is a small, quiet community in the state of Maryland, in the United States. It's located on the Eastern Shore, which is a beautiful area near the water. Williston is known as an unincorporated town. This means it doesn't have its own local government like a city. Instead, it's managed by Caroline County. It's also a census-designated place, which is a special area the government uses to count people for the census.
As of the 2010 census, about 155 people lived in Williston. By the 2020 census, the population was 153 people.

History of Williston
Williston was first called Potter's Landing. It was named after its first resident, a person named Zabdiel Potter. His old home, called Potter Hall, is a very important historical building. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. This means it's recognized as a special place worth protecting.
Location and Surroundings
Williston is nestled between Maryland Route 16 on one side and the Choptank River on the other. The Choptank River is a large river that flows into the Chesapeake Bay.
Local Events and Landmarks
Each year, the Caroline-Dorchester County Fair is held just east of Williston. This fair is a fun event for the community.
Several other historical places are located near Williston. These include Memory Lane (Denton, Maryland), the Williston Mill Historic District, and the Williston Community Church. These places help tell the story of the area's past.
