The Willow Brook is a small river located entirely within the English county of Northamptonshire. It is a tributary of the River Nene, which means it's a smaller stream that flows into a larger river.
Discover the Willow Brook
The Willow Brook plays a part in the natural water system of Northamptonshire. It helps carry water from the land into the larger River Nene.
Where the Journey Begins and Ends
The Willow Brook starts its journey north of Corby. This is where the water for the brook first appears, often from underground springs or rainwater. For many years, until 1980, water from this area was taken for use at the Corby Steelworks, a large factory that made steel.
As the Willow Brook flows, it travels through or very close to several villages. These include Deene, Bulwick, Blatherwycke, King's Cliffe, and Woodnewton. After winding its way through these areas, the brook finally reaches its end. It joins the River Nene downstream from the village of Fotheringhay.
