Exploring Winding Hills Park
Winding Hills Park has many different types of land. Most of the park is covered with trees, like a big forest. There are also some open, clear areas, especially near the roads.
Park Landscape
The eastern part of the park has hills that gently rise up. To the north and west, the land is mostly flat or gently rolling. The lowest parts of the park are about 500 feet (152 meters) above sea level. This is where Pine Swamp drains water towards the Wallkill River. The highest point in the park is about 780 feet (238 meters) high.

If you love spending a night outdoors, Winding Hills Park has 51 campsites. You can set up your tent and enjoy the peace of nature. Camping is available from May through October. Remember to make a reservation and pay a small fee to secure your spot.

The park has a long trail system, about 10 miles (16 kilometers) long. These trails are great for different activities depending on the season.
