Wishbone Ash is a famous rock band from Britain. They started playing music in Torquay, England, back in 1969. The band was most popular during the 1970s.
The first members of Wishbone Ash were Martin Turner, who played bass and sang, Steve Upton on drums, and Andy Powell and Ted Turner, who both played guitar and sang. After Ted Turner left in 1974, Laurie Wisefield joined as the new guitarist. Over the years, many musicians have been part of the band. Today, only Andy Powell is still a member from the original lineup.
Wishbone Ash is well known because they were one of the first bands to use two lead guitars playing together in hard rock music. This special sound inspired many other bands, like Iron Maiden. Their most popular album is called Argus, which came out in 1972. It was a big hit, reaching number 3 on the UK Albums Chart that year.
