The Wiyabal people traditionally lived on a special area of land, which they called their "Country." This land was very important to them, as it was where their ancestors lived for thousands of years.
Their traditional Country covered about 600 square miles (about 1,550 square kilometers). This area was located along the Upper Richmond River. It stretched south from a town called Kyogle down to the area near Casino. The eastern edge of their land was around Dunoon. This land provided everything they needed to live, including food, water, and resources for shelter.
