The WFC's main goal was to help different countries work together to fight against malnutrition (not getting enough good food) and hunger. It tried to connect the agriculture ministries (government departments that deal with farming and food) from various nations. The World Food Council officially stopped its work in 1993. It is one of the very few United Nations groups that has ever been closed down. Its jobs were then taken over by other UN organizations like the Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Food Programme.
