Wye is a small community in Missoula County, Montana, United States. It's a place where people live, but it's not an official city or town. Wye is part of the larger Missoula metropolitan area. In 2020, about 714 people lived there. This was more than the 511 people who lived there in 2010. The community got its name from a "Y"-shaped road junction. This is where US 93 and MT 200 met an older highway, close to I-90.
Where is Wye Located?
Wye is in the middle of Missoula County. It is about 2 miles (3.2 km) northwest of the city limits of Missoula. Downtown Missoula is about 8 miles (12.9 km) to the northwest. The Missoula Montana Airport is also close by, about 3 miles (4.8 km) southeast of Wye.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the Wye area covers about 2.9 square miles (7.5 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
