Wyo's Railroad History
A long time ago, the Southern Pacific Railroad was very important for Wyo. This railroad was a major train line. It helped connect Wyo to other places. A special, shorter train track, called a spur line, branched off from the main railroad at Wyo. This spur line went to a place called the Stony Creek gravel pit. A gravel pit is where people dig up rocks and sand. These materials are used for building roads and other projects. The railroad helped move these materials from the gravel pit to where they were needed.
