What's the Story About?

The main characters in Wyrd Sisters are three powerful witches: Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg, and Magrat Garlick. Granny Weatherwax was first seen in another Discworld book called Equal Rites.

The story is a funny and clever version of Shakespeare's famous play, Macbeth. In the book, a king is murdered, and his kingdom is taken over by a bad duke and duchess. The true heir to the throne, a baby, is saved by the witches.

The witches try to make things right in the kingdom. They use their magic and common sense to deal with the evil duke and duchess. They also have to handle a ghost and a traveling theatre group! It's a story full of magic, humor, and a bit of chaos.

In 1997, Wyrd Sisters was turned into a TV mini-series. This means the book's story was shown on television over a few episodes.
