Exploring the Discworld Stories
The Discworld books are full of different characters and exciting adventures. Sometimes, the same main characters appear in several books. This creates cool story arcs that you can follow.
Meet Rincewind, the Wizard
Rincewind was one of the first main characters in the Discworld books. He is a wizard, but here's the funny part: he doesn't actually know any spells! Rincewind tries to run away from danger all the time. Even though he's a bit of a coward, he accidentally saves the world many times.
Death, a Friendly Skeleton
Death appears in almost all the Discworld books. He is a very tall skeleton, about seven feet high! Death shows up when people die to guide their souls to the afterlife. Even though he sounds scary, he can be quite kind to people. He especially loves cats!
The City Watch: Heroes of Ankh-Morpork
The City Watch is like the police force in one of Discworld's biggest cities. This city is called Ankh-Morpork. When the series starts, the City Watch only has a few members. They are pretty lazy and not very good at their jobs. But later in the series, they grow much bigger! They become a strong team that works hard to stop crimes all over the city.
Witches of Discworld
The most famous witch in the series is Granny Weatherwax. She might seem a bit grumpy and doesn't always act like she likes people. But Granny Weatherwax still helps everyone. She uses her magic to heal people when they are sick and even helps deliver babies.
