How Xperi Started
Xperi Inc. has a long history. It began as a company called Tessera, Inc. in 1990. Tessera first focused on making tiny parts for computer chips.
Over the years, Tessera grew by joining with other companies.
- In 2008, they welcomed FotoNation. This company was good at making pictures look better.
- In 2016, Tessera joined with DTS, Inc.. DTS is famous for its audio technology. Before this, DTS had bought iBiquity Digital. This company created HD Radio, a way to listen to digital radio in North America.
