Xpress: Platform 13 at RCDB |
Xpress is a super fast launched roller coaster located at Walibi Holland theme park in The Netherlands. It first opened its doors in April 2000. When it first launched, the ride was known as Superman the Ride.
Before it was built, the park originally planned to call it Riddlers Revenge. It was even painted green at the factory! But then, the name changed to Superman the Ride. So, the coaster was quickly repainted red and blue. Since 2005, this exciting ride has been known as Xpress. It was the very first roller coaster in Europe to use a special launch system called LSM. LSM stands for Linear Synchronous Motor. This system uses powerful magnets to push the train forward very quickly.

What is Xpress: Platform 13?
Xpress is a thrilling steel roller coaster. It uses a powerful launch to send riders zooming from 0 to 55.9 miles per hour in just 2.8 seconds! The ride is 85 feet tall and has three inversions. Inversions are parts of the track where the coaster turns you upside down. The whole ride lasts about 100 seconds.
Ride Experience
When you get on Xpress, you'll feel a sudden burst of speed. The LSM launch system pushes the train out of the station. You will quickly go through twists, turns, and loops. The ride is designed to feel like a high-speed adventure. It's a favorite for many visitors to Walibi Holland.
How Xpress Works
Xpress uses a special launch system. Instead of a slow chain lift, magnets push the train forward. This makes the start of the ride very exciting. The coaster then goes through its track, including three inversions. These inversions turn riders upside down for a moment.
Keeping Xpress Running
In 2011, Xpress was closed for a whole year. Important parts of its launch system were broken. These parts are very special and hard to get. Only three roller coasters like Xpress exist in the world. Two of them are at Disney parks. The park had to order these parts specially. While waiting, Walibi Holland decided to repaint the track. Xpress was back open and thrilling riders again in 2012.
