Xzavion Rashan Curry (born July 27, 1998) is an American professional baseball pitcher. He currently plays for the Tigres de Quintana Roo in the Mexican League. Before that, he played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cleveland Guardians and Miami Marlins.

Early Life and College Baseball

Xzavion Curry was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and went to Benjamin Elijah Mays High School. After high school, he attended Georgia Tech.

Playing for the Yellow Jackets

At Georgia Tech, Curry played college baseball for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. In the summer of 2018, he played for the Harwich Mariners. This was part of the Cape Cod Baseball League, a special league for college players.

In 2019, during his junior year at Georgia Tech, Curry pitched for over 57 innings. He had a record of 4 wins and 2 losses. His earned run average (ERA) was 4.08, and he struck out 66 batters.

Professional Baseball Journey

After his college career, Xzavion Curry began his professional baseball journey. He was drafted by a Major League Baseball team.

Joining the Cleveland Guardians

The Cleveland Indians (who later became the Cleveland Guardians) picked Curry in the seventh round of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft. He signed with the team. However, he did not play in 2019 after signing. The 2020 minor league season was also canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Minor League Success

Curry made his professional debut in 2021. He played for the Lynchburg Hillcats. Later that year, he moved up to the Lake County Captains and then the Akron RubberDucks. Across these three teams, he had a great season. He won 8 games and lost only 1. His ERA was very low at 2.30, and he struck out 123 batters. This ERA was one of the best in the minor leagues.

He started the 2022 season back with the Akron RubberDucks. In June, he was promoted again to the Columbus Clippers. This team plays in Triple-A, which is just one step below Major League Baseball.

Major League Debut

On August 14, 2022, the Guardians announced that Curry would join the major league team. He made his MLB debut the next day, August 15, 2022. He started as a pitcher in a game against the Detroit Tigers. He wore jersey number 71, a number not used by a Guardians player since 1929.

In his first MLB game, he pitched five innings. He allowed three runs and struck out three batters. The Guardians lost the game 7–5.

Pitching in the Big Leagues

Curry started the 2023 season in Triple-A. But he was quickly called up to the Guardians' main team. This happened after another pitcher, Triston McKenzie, got injured. On April 3, he pitched five innings in relief. He helped the team after another pitcher struggled early in the game.

In 2024, Curry played in 7 games for Cleveland, starting 4 of them. He pitched for almost 25 innings and had 15 strikeouts. On August 6, 2024, the Guardians decided to make a change and released him from their main roster.

Time with the Miami Marlins

On August 9, 2024, the Miami Marlins picked up Curry. He played in 9 games for Miami. He had a record of 2 wins and 0 losses. His ERA was 3.00, and he struck out 13 batters in 18 innings.

Curry was released by the Marlins on February 11, 2025. He later rejoined their minor league system. On March 30, 2025, the Marlins added him back to their main team. He pitched in three games for Miami, with an 0-1 record. He was released by the Marlins organization on June 3, 2025.

Playing in Mexico
