Yosuke Nozawa (野澤 洋輔, Nozawa Yōsuke, born November 9, 1979) is a Japanese former professional football goalkeeper. He played for several clubs in Japan and Singapore during his career.

Yosuke Nozawa's Football Journey

Yosuke Nozawa was born in Shizuoka, Japan, on November 9, 1979. He started his football journey in 1998. He joined the youth team of J1 League club Shimizu S-Pulse. However, he did not get to play in any matches for two seasons. This was because another goalkeeper, Masanori Sanada, was the main player.

Playing for Albirex Niigata

In 2000, Yosuke moved to Albirex Niigata. This club was in the J2 League at the time. He did not play in 2000 either. But from 2001, he became the main goalkeeper for the team.

His team, Albirex Niigata, won the championship in 2003. This win helped them get promoted to the J1 League in 2004. However, Yosuke's playing time started to decrease from 2006. Another goalkeeper, Takashi Kitano, began to play more often.

Time with Shonan Bellmare

In 2009, Yosuke moved to Shonan Bellmare, another J2 club. He had a great year in 2009. He played in every single match for the team. Because of his efforts, Shonan Bellmare was promoted to the J1 League in 2010.

However, Yosuke faced a challenge in 2010. He suffered a back injury, which is called a spinal disc herniation. This injury caused him to lose his regular spot on the team. He could not play at all during 2011. During this time, Yohei Nishibe became the main goalkeeper.

Playing for Matsumoto Yamaga FC

In 2012, Yosuke joined Matsumoto Yamaga FC. He played in many matches that year. But from 2013 onwards, his back injury continued to bother him. This meant he could hardly play in any games.

Moving to Singapore: Albirex Niigata Singapore

In 2015, Yosuke made a big move. He went to Singapore to play for Albirex Niigata Singapore. This team plays in the S.League. He had a very successful time there. Over four years, he helped the club win 13 different titles!

Returning to Albirex Niigata

In 2019, Yosuke returned to Japan. He signed with J2 League club Albirex Niigata again. This was 11 years after he first left them. On November 24, 2019, he played his only match for the club in his second spell. It was the last game of the season, and his team won 2-1 against V-Varen Nagasaki.

Yosuke Nozawa announced his retirement from professional football on December 17, 2019.
