Ya Hui (born Koh Yah Hwee on 18 May 1987) is a talented Singaporean actress and host. She is well-known for her many roles in TV dramas and for hosting shows. Ya Hui started her journey in entertainment after a big talent competition.

About Ya Hui's Early Life
Ya Hui was born in Singapore on 18 May 1987. She went to Manjusri Secondary School and later to Serangoon Junior College. During her school years, she loved dancing. She was part of the Dance Team from primary school all the way through junior college. She was even chosen as the prom queen when she was in college!
Ya Hui's Career Journey
Ya Hui's career began in 2007 after she joined a big TV talent show called Star Search. She was very popular during the competition. She finished as one of the top contestants and also won a special award called Miss Telegenic.
Soon after Star Search, Ya Hui signed a contract with Mediacorp, a major media company in Singapore. She quickly became the face for a popular drinks brand. She also got a role in the TV drama Love Blossoms II. In this show, she acted alongside famous actors like Ivy Lee and Zheng Geping.
Her acting skills helped her get many different roles. She acted in dramas on English and Mandarin channels. Some of these shows include Bountiful Blessings, Point of Entry, and Marry Me.
In 2009, Ya Hui starred in Reunion Dinner, playing the daughter of a character played by Chen Liping. Her strong performances led to her being nominated for awards. She was nominated for the Newcomer Award of the Year in 2008 and the Best Newcomer Award in 2009.
In 2015, she finished filming a very long TV drama series called 118. This show had 255 episodes and was shown on Mediacorp Channel 8. That same year, she became the Singapore ambassador for a beauty product brand, L'Oréal Paris Youth Code.
In February 2023, Ya Hui announced that she would be leaving Mediacorp. She decided to become a freelance artist, meaning she would no longer be a full-time employee of the company.
Ya Hui has won many awards for being a popular female artist. She has won the Star Awards for Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes seven times. These wins were in 2014, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
Ya Hui's Personal Life
Ya Hui has a fan club called "Team Yahui". Her fans support her in her acting and hosting career.
She can speak Teochew and some basic Cantonese. She has used these languages in a dialect series called How Are You? and its follow-up shows.
