History of Yale
Yale was officially planned and laid out in 1882. It was named after its founder, a man named Milo Yale.
A special building, the Yale High School Gymnasium, was built in 1932. This unique round building is no longer used as a gym. However, it is important enough to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means it is recognized for its historical value.

Fun in Yale: Festivals
Yale hosts a special Fourth of July festival every year. The celebrations begin on the evening of July 3rd with a street dance or a local band playing at the Yale Community Club.
On the Fourth of July, the main events start with a parade at 11:00 a.m. Throughout the day, there are many activities for families. The Yale Saddle Club puts on a horse show. There's also a garden tractor contest.
Main Street becomes a lively place with street vendors, a car show, a talent show, and bingo. The day ends with a fireworks display sponsored by the Farmers State Bank and the City of Yale. The city's population often doubles or triples on this festive day!
Education in Yale
The Panorama Community School District serves the students in Yale. This school district was formed in 1989. It was created when the Panora-Linden and Y-J-B school districts joined together.
