Yam, California facts for kids
Yam is a former settlement in Merced County, California. It was located 1.5 miles (2.4 km) southeast of Winton.
A post office operated at Yam from 1911 to 1912, when service was moved to Winton. The name comes from the abundance of yams being grown in the area.
