Yashoda Wimaladharma (whose name in Sinhala is යශෝධා විමලධර්ම) is a famous actress from Sri Lanka. She has starred in many Sri Lankan movies, TV shows, and plays. People often call her the "innocent on the small screen" because of the roles she plays. Yashoda has been acting for over 30 years and is very good at what she does. She has also used her experience to be a judge at international film festivals.

About Yashoda Wimaladharma
Yashoda Wimaladharma was born on October 28, 1970, in Sri Lanka. Her father, Ravilal Wimaladharma, taught the Hindi language at the University of Kelaniya. Her mother, Mallika Wimaladharma, was a dancer and a school teacher. Yashoda has an older sister named Thusitha, who is also a school teacher. Yashoda studied Hindi and is very good at speaking the language. She went to school at St. Paul’s Girls School, Milagiriya in Colombo.
Yashoda's Acting Journey
Starting in TV Dramas
Yashoda's acting career began in 1988. Her uncle, Bandula Vithanage, invited her to act in a TV drama called Atta Bindei. This was her very first step into the world of acting.
First Steps in Movies
In 1990, Yashoda made her debut in movies. She acted in a film called Gurugedara, which means "Teacher's Home". Vijaya Dharmasiri directed this movie. For her role in Gurugedara, she won a special award at the Sarasaviya Film Festival in 1993.
Other Achievements
Yashoda Wimaladharma was also a pioneer in other areas. On June 18, 2003, she launched her own website, www.yashodaw.com. This was a big deal because she was the first Sri Lankan actress to have her own website. She also wrote the lyrics for a song called Thugu Girikulu in 1999. Dayan Witharana sang the song, and Rohana Weerasinghe created the music. In 2019, Yashoda became the first person from Sri Lanka to be a judge at an international film festival.
