Yasuhito Suzuki (鈴木 康仁, Suzuki Yasuhito, born December 19, 1959) is a former Japanese football player. He was a goalkeeper who played for the Japan national team. His son, Yuto Suzuki, is also a football player.

Playing for Clubs

Early Career and Yanmar Diesel

Yasuhito Suzuki was born in Osaka Prefecture, Japan, on December 19, 1959. After finishing high school, he joined a local football club called Yanmar Diesel in 1978. This was a big step for him into professional football.

Time as a Goalkeeper

During his time at Yanmar Diesel, Yasuhito Suzuki was a reserve goalkeeper. This means he was a backup player, often behind the main goalkeeper, Kazumi Tsubota. Even though he didn't play in many games, he was part of a successful team.

Winning the League

In 1980, his club, Yanmar Diesel, won the Japan Soccer League championship. This was a major achievement for the team. Yasuhito Suzuki played 8 games in the league during his career. He retired from playing football in 1982.

Playing for Japan

Japan U-20 National Team

In August 1979, Yasuhito Suzuki was chosen to play for the Japan U-20 national team. He participated in the 1979 FIFA World Youth Championship, which is a big tournament for young players from around the world. He played in 3 games during this championship.

Japan National Team Debut

Later, in December 1980, he was selected to join the main Japan national team. This was for the qualification matches for the 1982 FIFA World Cup.
