Yayales is a small, rural area. It is a barrio (which is like a neighborhood or district) located in the town of Adjuntas, Puerto Rico.
History of Yayales
Puerto Rico became part of the United States after the Spanish–American War. This happened in 1898, following the Treaty of Paris of 1898. It is an unincorporated territory of the U.S.
In 1899, the U.S. government took a count of all the people in Puerto Rico. This count is called a census. The census showed that 660 people lived in Yayales barrio at that time.
