How Yeager Got Its Name

The town of Yeager is named after Hattie Yargee. She was a person from the Creek Nation. The name was changed slightly when a post office opened. This happened on February 6, 1902.

Early Growth and the Railroad

Yeager grew up along a railroad line. This line was built between 1900 and 1901. The railroad was very important for the town. It helped bring people and goods.

Oil and Gas Discovery
