Yoder is a small, friendly place in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a city or town. The name "Yoder" comes from the Mennonite people who first settled here. You might even know Yoder from the TV show Nowhere Man, which filmed some scenes here!

Discovering Yoder's Location
Yoder is easy to find in Oregon. It sits on South Kropf Road. This road is just north of South Schneider Road. It's also about one mile south of Highway 211. At this spot, Kropf Road and Highway 211 meet at a place called Hamrick's Corner.
If you're looking at a map, Canby is located to the north of Yoder. To the south, you'll find the community of Marquam. This makes Yoder a quiet spot between two larger areas.
Historic Buildings in Yoder
Yoder has some interesting old buildings that tell its story.
The Yoder Mill
The Yoder Mill was a very important building. It was a sawmill, built way back in 1889. A sawmill is a place where logs are cut into lumber. This mill actually burned down and was rebuilt three different times! It shows how important it was to the community.
The Yoder Store
Another historic spot is the Yoder Store. This building was built in 1914. It was an old-style general store. General stores used to sell a little bit of everything. They were often the heart of a small community.
The Yoder School
The Yoder School was a small, wooden building. It was built in 1923. Kids learned here until 1963. Even though it's not a school anymore, the building is still standing today. Since the mid-1990s, the South Clackamas Community Church has met at the old school. For a few years, they even ran a private Christian school there.
The Old Railway Line
Did you know a railway used to run through Yoder? It was called the Willamette Valley Southern Railway. This train line connected Oregon City to Mt. Angel. Railways were very important for travel and moving goods long ago.
