Yohei Taniike (谷池 洋平, Taniike Yohei, born April 5, 1977) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender for several teams in Japan during his career.

Yohei Taniike's Football Journey
Early Years and First Club
Yohei Taniike was born in Minamiawaji, Japan, on April 5, 1977. After finishing his studies at the University of Tsukuba, he joined a professional football club. In 2000, he started his professional career with J1 League club Vissel Kobe. This team was based in his home area. However, he did not play in any matches during his first year with Vissel Kobe.
Playing for Tokushima Vortis
In 2001, Taniike moved to a club called Otsuka Pharmaceutical. This club later changed its name to Tokushima Vortis. Here, he became a regular player, often playing as a center back. A center back is a defender who plays in the middle of the defense.
His time at Tokushima Vortis was very successful. The club won the championship in the Japan Football League (JFL) in both 2003 and 2004. Because they won these championships, the team was promoted to the J2 League starting in 2005. In 2005, Taniike played many games as a right back, which is a defender who plays on the right side of the field. However, he played fewer matches in 2006.
Later Career and Retirement
In 2007, Yohei Taniike moved to another JFL club, Tochigi SC. He played in many games for this team. The next year, in 2008, he joined Sony Sendai, which was also a JFL club. He continued to be a regular player for Sony Sendai for a long time. He played many matches for them until he decided to retire from football at the end of the 2013 season.
