Yokasta Galeth Valle Álvarez (born August 28, 1992) is a professional boxer from Costa Rica. She was born in Nicaragua but moved to Costa Rica when she was very young. Yokasta is a world champion in three different weight classes. She has held important titles like the IBF atomweight, WBO and IBF minimumweight, and WBO and IBF light-flyweight championships.

Early Life and First Steps

Yokasta Valle was born on August 28, 1992, in Matagalpa, Nicaragua. She moved to Costa Rica when she was a small child. This is why she has Costa Rican nationality.

Yokasta first started playing volleyball. But her father loved boxing, and he encouraged her to try it. She had her very first boxing match when she was just 13 years old!

Becoming a Professional Boxer

Yokasta started her professional boxing career on July 26, 2014. Her first fight was in Alajuela, Costa Rica. She won against a Mexican boxer named Guadalupe "La Fiera" Atilano. Yokasta won by a unanimous decision, which means all the judges agreed she was the winner.

Chasing World Titles

On December 1, 2017, Yokasta fought for her first big world title. It was the WBO female light-flyweight title. She fought against Naoko Fujioka from Japan. Yokasta lost this fight by unanimous decision. It was her first loss as a professional boxer.

In 2018, she had another chance to win a world title. She fought Tina Rupprecht for the WBC minimumweight world championship. This fight took place in Germany. Yokasta lost again by unanimous decision. This was her second professional loss.

Winning Her First World Championship

Yokasta's hard work paid off on August 4, 2019. She fought Joana Pastrana for the IBF mini-flyweight world championship. The fight was held in Marbella, Spain. Yokasta won this exciting match by a split decision. This meant she became the new mini-flyweight female world champion!

Unifying Titles and New Achievements

On September 8, 2022, Yokasta had a special fight. She faced Nguyễn Thị Thu Nhi to unify two titles. This means she already held one title and was fighting to win another from a different organization. The fight was in San José, Costa Rica. Yokasta won by a clear unanimous decision, winning every round. This made her the IBF and WBO mini-flyweight champion.

Yokasta became a world champion in three different weight classes on November 26, 2022. She defeated Evelyn Bermudez, who held the IBF and WBO light-flyweight titles. Yokasta won by a majority decision in California, USA.

In 2023, Yokasta continued to defend her titles. She won against Jessica Basulto Salazar in March. She also defeated Maria Micheo Santizo in September. Both wins were by unanimous decision, keeping her WBO and IBF minimumweight titles.

On March 29, 2024, Yokasta fought Seniesa Estrada for the undisputed minimumweight title. This means the winner would hold all the major titles in that weight class. Yokasta lost this fight by unanimous decision.

She quickly returned to the ring on July 20, 2024. Yokasta won her fight against Ramandeep Kaur by stopping her in the second round. This fight took place in Costa Rica.

Outside the Ring

Besides boxing, Yokasta Valle has also appeared on television. In 2018, she was a contestant on the Costa Rican version of Dancing with the Stars.
