Yokena is a small, quiet community located in the southern part of Warren County, Mississippi, in the United States. It's an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that are part of the larger county area, without its own separate town government.

The community is bordered by the Big Black River to the south. To the north, you'll find Warrenton. Campbell Swamp is to the east, and U.S. Highway 61 is to the west.

The name Yokena comes from an old plantation called Lucca Yokena. In the local Choctaw language, "Lucca Yokena" means 'Black Dirt'. There are no big factories or large stores in Yokena.

The main roads in Yokena are U.S. Highway 61, Hankinson Road, Jeff Davis Road, and Campbell Swamp Road.

Yokena Presbyterian Church

The Yokena Presbyterian Church is one of these special places. It was started on May 11, 1884. The church was built on land that was part of an old Spanish land grant. This land was given by Mrs. Patty Hyland Gould Hankinson. The church was officially opened on August 5, 1886. The first pastor, Reverend Charles Pier Colmery, served the church for a very long time, from 1888 until he passed away in 1938.

Hankinson Road Pivot Bridge

The other notable landmark is the Hankinson Road pivot bridge. This bridge crosses over the Big Black River.
