A Look at Past Development Plans
Yokohl Valley was once considered for a very large housing project. Developers wanted to build 10,000 homes there. This plan would have changed the quiet valley a lot. It would have brought many new people and buildings.
Why the Project Was Stopped
Many groups did not like the housing plan. These were mostly environmental preservation groups. They wanted to protect the natural beauty of the area. They also wanted to save its wildlife. Building so many homes would have been very expensive. Providing water and electricity to the new homes was a big challenge. Because of these reasons, the developers canceled the project in 2018. Yokohl Valley remains a natural and undeveloped area today.
