Yoshinori Shigematsu (重松 良典, Shigematsu Yoshinori, born April 2, 1930) is a former Japanese football player. He was born on April 2, 1930, in Hiroshima. Yoshinori Shigematsu played as a forward and was a member of the Japan national team.

Playing for Clubs

Yoshinori Shigematsu started his football journey in high school. He later played for Keio University. While playing for Keio University, his team, called All Keio, won the Emperor's Cup in 1952. This was a big achievement for him and his team.

After finishing university, Shigematsu joined a local club called Toyo Industries in 1954. With Toyo Industries, he helped his team reach the finals of the Emperor's Cup twice. They finished in second place in both 1954 and 1957. The 1954 final was special because it was the first time a team from a company (a "works team") reached the Emperor's Cup final.

Playing for Japan

Yoshinori Shigematsu was chosen to play for the Japan national team in May 1958. He joined the team for the 1958 Asian Games. He made his first appearance for Japan on May 28, 1958, in a game against Hong Kong. This was his only game for the national team.

After Football: A New Role

After he stopped playing football, Yoshinori Shigematsu took on new leadership roles. In 1974, he became the president of a local baseball team, the Hiroshima Toyo Carp.

Later, in 1981, he moved to another sports club, Fujita Industries. This club later became known as Bellmare Hiratsuka. Shigematsu became the president of this club in 1997. He stayed in this role until 1999, when he left the club.
