Vilborg Yrsa Sigurðardóttir is a well-known writer from Iceland. She was born in 1963. Yrsa writes two main types of books. She writes exciting crime novels for adults. She also writes fun children's books.
Yrsa started writing in 1998. Her first crime novel was translated into English. In her crime stories, the main character is often a lawyer named Thóra Gudmundsdóttir. Yrsa has won awards for her children's books. In 2003, she won the Icelandic Children's Book Prize for her book Biobörn.
Besides writing, Yrsa has another job. She works as a civil engineer. She is also married and has two children.
