Yuichi Mizutani was born in Tokyo, Japan, on May 26, 1980. He started his professional football career in August 1999. He joined the J1 League club Bellmare Hiratsuka, which later became Shonan Bellmare.

Early Career and Challenges

Becoming a Regular Goalkeeper

Mizutani returned to Avispa Fukuoka in 2003. He competed for the goalkeeper spot and played in many games that year. From 2004, he became the team's regular goalkeeper. His strong play helped Avispa Fukuoka get promoted back to the J1 League in 2006.

Moving to New Teams

In 2007, Mizutani joined Kashiwa Reysol. He found it hard to get playing time there. So, in 2008, he moved to Kyoto Sanga FC. He became the regular goalkeeper for this team and played in many matches.

Towards the end of 2010, he played fewer games. Kyoto Sanga FC then moved down to the J2 League in 2011. But Mizutani became the regular goalkeeper again from 2011.

Final Years in Football

In 2013, Mizutani returned to Avispa Fukuoka, a J2 League club. He played as the regular goalkeeper at first. However, he got injured in June and could not play much after that.
