Playing Career Highlights
Yusuke Kawakita was born in Osaka Prefecture, Japan, on May 13, 1978. After finishing his studies at Kansai University, he started his professional football journey in 2001.
Starting with Ventforet Kofu
Kawakita joined Ventforet Kofu, a club in the J2 League, which is one of Japan's professional football leagues. He played in many games during his first year. However, he often played as a backup goalkeeper. He was behind other skilled goalkeepers like Hiromasa Azuma in 2001 and Tatsuya Tsuruta in 2002.
Moving to Tokushima Vortis
In 2003, Kawakita moved to a club called Otsuka Pharmaceutical. This team was in the Japan Football League, a league below the J2 League. Here, he became the main goalkeeper for the 2003 season.
However, his chances to play became fewer in 2004. Even though his team won the championship in the 2004 season and moved up to the J2 League, he didn't play in any matches in 2005.
Time with Ehime FC
In 2006, Kawakita joined Ehime FC, a team that had just been promoted to the J2 League. He worked hard and played in many games each season. By 2011, he became the regular starting goalkeeper for the team.
In 2012, a new goalkeeper named Yota Akimoto joined the team. Kawakita did not play in any matches that year. At the end of the 2012 season, he decided to retire from playing professional football. After his playing career, he became a coach.
