Early Life and Dance Journey
Yuta Nakatsuka was born in Osaka, Japan. He was born on January 7, 1993.
Discovering a Passion for Dance
Yuta became interested in dancing because his mother loved American music. She especially enjoyed music by Black artists. He grew up listening to famous musicians like Stevie Wonder and Eric Clapton. His mother even took him to live concerts.
When Yuta was six years old, he decided he wanted to be a dancer. He started attending a dance school called "Dance Studio BOOM" in Ibaraki. His parents recommended this school. There, he met his first dance teachers, Hilty & Bosch. They taught acrobatics and inspired Yuta to learn a dance style called Locking. Even though he was the youngest, Yuta was one of the best students.
Learning Different Dance Styles
At the same dance school, Yuta tried many different dance styles. He took classes from various instructors. These included Boo, Cherry from Wild Cherry, and Skeeter Rabbit. He wanted to learn all kinds of dance.
When he was 16, Yuta joined EXPG Osaka. This is a talent school run by LDH. He was scouted by the company during a dance event. Because of his high skill level, he became an instructor there in the same year. One of his most famous students was Twice's Sana.
Moving to Tokyo and Big Decisions
When Yuta was 18, he moved to Tokyo. He was thinking about his future as a dancer. He was part of a Popping dance crew called Yuki Dojo. This crew won second place at a big dance competition. This experience was very important for Yuta.
In 2011, he was chosen to be a support member for Generations. His former instructor, Yuki, encouraged him to follow his dreams. Yuki told him he could always return to the crew. This motivated Yuta to work hard in his career.
