Yuto Nakajima (Japanese: 中島 裕翔, Hepburn: Nakajima, Yūto) is a talented Japanese singer, actor, and model. He is a popular member of the music group Hey! Say! JUMP. He also starred as Koji Kiritani in the 2005 Japanese TV show, Nobuta wo Produce.

Yuto Nakajima's Journey
Starting His Career in 2004
Yuto Nakajima began his journey in entertainment on March 28, 2004. He was in his fifth year of elementary school when he joined Johnny's Jr.. This is a group for young talents in Japan. After joining, he started performing with a group called J.J.Express. He was one of the five original members. Other members included Kouhei Matsumoto and Yuta Tamamori. Another member, Kei Inoo, later joined him in Hey! Say! JUMP.
Early Acting and First Group in 2005–2007
In 2005, Yuto started acting. He appeared in a few TV shows. One was a special for 24 Hour Television. He also acted in Nobuta wo Produce. In this show, he worked with older stars from his agency, Kazuya Kamenashi and Tomohisa Yamashita. He also appeared in Engine with his future groupmate, Daiki Arioka.
In 2006, he was in the drama Primadam. Later that year, he joined Tap Kids. This was another Johnny's Jr. group.
In April 2007, Yuto became part of a temporary group called Hey! Say! 7. They released their first CD, "Hey! Say!", on August 1. It quickly became number one on the Oricon charts. On September 24, a big announcement was made. His group would debut under a new name, Hey! Say! JUMP. This new group included the five members from Hey! Say! 7 plus five more. Their first single, "Ultra Music Power", came out on November 14. It also reached the top spot on the Oricon charts.
Lead Roles and First Album in 2008–2011
On April 12, 2008, Yuto got his first main role in a TV show. It was called Sensei Wa Erai. He starred alongside his Hey! Say! JUMP friends. These included Daiki Arioka, Ryosuke Yamada, and Yuri Chinen.
On October 11, 2008, Yuto played another main role. This time it was in the drama Scrap Teacher. The theme song for the show was Hey! Say! JUMP's fourth single, "Mayonaka no Shadow Boy". His groupmates Daiki Arioka, Ryosuke Yamada, and Yuri Chinen also acted in this drama.
During a press conference, it was announced that Hey! Say! JUMP would release their first album. It was called JUMP No.1. Members of the group helped write songs and lyrics for it. Yuto wrote the lyrics for a song called "Dash!!". This song was track number 15 on the album.
Growing Popularity from 2012 to Today
Yuto appeared in the comedy drama Perfect Son in 2012. He played Koji Kobayashi. His groupmate Ryosuke Yamada also starred in this NTV show. On February 17, Yuto, Yamada, and Chinen officially graduated from Horikoshi High School.
On July 10, 2012, Yuto appeared in Fine Boys Magazine. This marked his start in professional modeling. Later that year, he was also announced as a photographer. He would take pictures for Hey! Say! JUMP's annual calendar.
In January 2013, he co-starred in the TV drama Sharehouse no Koibito. He then had a supporting role in Hanzawa Naoki. This summer TV drama started on July 7, 2013. He also had a small part in Tokyo Bandwagon that fall.
In spring 2014, Yuto joined a big drama series. It was called Yowakutemo Katemasu. He starred with Arashi member Ninomiya Kazunari. That summer was a big moment for Yuto. He got his first starring role in a drama, Suikyu Yankees. Yuya Takaki also acted in this drama.
Yuto started 2015 with a popular romantic comedy drama, Date. He starred with Watanabe Anne and Hasegawa Hiroki. In the same month, it was announced that he would star in his first movie. It was called Pink to Gray. This movie was based on a book written by Shigeaki Kato. The famous director Yukisada Isao directed the film.
On October 1, 2015, Yuto, along with co-star Suda Masaki and director Yukisada, traveled to Korea. They went for the world premiere of Pink to Gray. This happened at the Busan International Film Festival. Yuto also appeared in the TV special of his earlier drama Date.
In 2022, he took on a lead role in the thriller movie #Manhole. Kazuyoshi Kumakiri directed this film. It was released in February 2023. This was his first movie since Our Meal for Tomorrow in 2017. In December 2022, the movie was invited to a special section. This was at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival. This is one of the world's three major film festivals. It was the first Japanese film since 2016 to be invited to this section. Both Yuto and director Kumakiri attended the festival. They appeared on the red carpet. The movie and Yuto's acting received good reviews. It has a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
He is set to appear in a movie and a drama in January 2025. The movie 366 Days is inspired by a song by the band HY. Yuto will play a supporting role, Ryusei Kayoda. For this role, he needs to speak with an Okinawan accent. He will also be a co-lead in the KTV/Fuji Television drama The Top Secret. He will play two roles: Aoki Ikko and Suzuki Katsuhiro. This is the second live-action version of the manga. It is the first time it has been made into a drama.
