Starting in Sports Reporting

Yvonne Sampson began her career as a cadet reporter. This happened with a little help from a chance meeting. Her father, who was a taxi driver, met former rugby league player Wendell Sailor. This connection helped Yvonne get her start.

She worked one day a week at the Seven Network's local news service. This was Seven Local News on the Sunshine Coast. At the same time, she was studying at the Queensland University of Technology. She also worked at an animal hospital.
